”REINFORCEMENT OF LOCAL DEMOCRACY“PROJECT
Reinforcement of Local Democracy (LOD) is a project funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aim of the project is to contribute to democratic stabilization, reconciliation and further development of BiH. The contribution will be made through support to selected municipalities for establishing improved local authority/civil society relations and facilitating financing mechanisms for improved service delivery.
Objectives of the call for expression of interest
Reinforcement of Local Democracy project welcomes submission of expression of interest from municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) for their involvement in the overall project implementation and for provision of support to the local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). The purpose of this call for expression of interest is to select at least 10 partner municipalities from BiH that will receive technical assistance and capacity building in order to build relationships and make stronger bonds, and sustainable dialogue with CSOs.
In addition, municipalities will be assisted in provision of better funds disbursements for CSOs, through unified and transparent mechanisms for the disbursement of funds for CSO projects, with at least one project per municipality funded. Selected municipalities will co-finance CSO projects with a minimum of 10% of the total funding that they will receive through the LOD project, and use transparent criteria and project-based approach for the disbursement of funds.
Through the LOD project, capacities of municipalities and CSOs will be increased improving mutual cooperation and efficiency, as well as the responsiveness to real local needs.

Submission of applications and deadlines
The LOD Project welcomes all municipalities from Bosnia and Herzegovina to take part in the open and competitive call for expression of interest, provided that they meet the general selection criteria as described in the detailed Guidelines for expression of interest.
